Product Overview and Models
The PHV series are a new family of Precision High Voltage, Programmable AC to DC Power Supplies that offer exceptional performance and versatility with full local control and a complete range of optional Analog and Digital remote interfaces.
This series features Output voltages from 125V to 300,000V and power levels from 14Watts to 15,000Watts. Single-phase 115VAC Inputs (104-126VAC, 47-63Hz) are available for models rated at 1400W and lower, with Three-phase 208VAC Inputs (187-228VAC, 47-63Hz) above 1400W, all with Passive Power-Factor Correction (PF=0.72 for single phase, PF=0.92 for three phase inputs @ rated load).
Multiple remote programming interfaces are available including Analog and Isolated Analog Program/Monitor, and Digital Interfaces such as IEEE, LAN, USB, and RS232 – see the Technical Details Tab for a full description.
All models are CE Marked in accordance with the Low Voltage and EMC Directives, and are RoHS compliant and offer a three (3) year Warranty.

Technical Details
The PHV series of programmable AC/DC power supplies sets a new standard for high precision, low ripple, reliable power systems for Scientific, Industrial and Laboratory applications. Available in power levels from 14W to 15kW and with output voltages from 125V to 300,000V, the PHV family offers a versatile solution for many precision high voltage applications.
All PHV models feature standard local controls with 10-turn Voltage and Current potentiometers, and 4½ digit voltage/current displays. For increased programming accuracy, optional fine potentiometers can be added for voltage and/or current control. The HV Output can be turned ON and OFF via a front panel push button, and the output voltage can be limited using a front panel mounted potentiometer.
PHV supplies are avilable with a wide range of optional analog and digital interfaces (details below), and optional features that suit many applications, including ultra low ripple, and high stability and many others that are detailed below.
Optional Features
If the standard unit configuration does not meet the users needs, a multitude of available features can increase the flexibility and performance of the PHV supply. A full list and outline description of the optional features is shown in the table below.
Isolated Output |
Standard on all models rated at 2kV and below, option for models from 3.5kV to 65kV. |
Polarity Reversal |
Electronic output polarity reversal control for all models from 3.5kV to 35kV. For 65kV models the polarity reversal option is a manual control, and adds 2U (3.5″) to the unit height, and 4″ to the depth. |
Interlock Terminals |
Shuts down unit and disconnects AC line when activated, requires RESET button to be pushed to restart unit. |
5½ Digit V/I display |
Replaces the standard 4½ with 5½ digit diplays on either current, voltage or both channels. |
Coarse/Fine output potentiometers |
Adds 10-turn potentiometer for fine adjustment of output voltage/current or both channels. |
Low ripple |
< 0.001% peak to peak ripple with additional output filtering. |
High Stability |
Hgh stability feedback components in voltage and/or current channel for improved performance ±0.001%/°C |
HV output <50V |
Indicates HV output is lower that 50V. |
Low Stored Energy |
Reduced stored energy in output section, can cause increase in output ripple to around 1%. |
Overcurrent trip |
Adds front panel potentiometer for setting output current limit. |
Power regulation |
Adds aditional regulation loop, potentiometer, and display for power control. |
Temperature controlled fan |
Turns fan on only when unit is running at high power. Not available with high stability options. |
Other features may be available, please contact the factory to discuss your exact requirements. |
Remote Interface Options
An Optional Analog control interface offers remote voltage and current programming/readback (0-10V=0-100%) as well as basic status functions that mirror the front panel LEDs and controls. The Analog interface is also available with Isolated programming/readback and status/controls (2,000V isolation) which must be used if the floating return is selected.
A comprehensive range of Optional digital interfaces is also available. This includes IEEE 488, LAN, USB, RS232 (hard wired or optical), and RS422 (hard wiredl) – see details in the specification below.
All models are CE Marked and offer three (3) year Warranty.
