Description

The XJTAG XJLink2 JTAG Controller is a small, portable, and high-performance USB-to-JTAG device designed to make boundary-scan testing and in-system programming simple, efficient, and adaptable. Its lightweight form factor makes it the perfect companion for engineers in labs, production environments, and even field applications where flexibility and reliability are essential.

Compact Design and Portability

Weighing very little and powered directly from a USB connection, the XJLink2 can be taken anywhere testing is required. Its portability allows seamless use with laptops, making it a practical choice for on-site diagnostics or production line environments.

Flexible JTAG Connectivity

The XJLink2 connects to up to four JTAG chains simultaneously, enabling efficient testing across multiple devices. Since there is no industry-standard pin-out for JTAG, the controller provides software-configurable pin mapping, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of circuit boards. Spare pins can also be reassigned for additional functions, such as reset control, PSU switching, or digital I/O.

Advanced Testing Features

Engineers benefit from a built-in voltmeter (0–5 V) and frequency counter (1 Hz–200 MHz) on all I/O pins, allowing precise measurements during tests. With a TCK frequency of up to 166 MHz, the controller supports high-speed operation, while automatic signal skew control ensures stability across various cable lengths and chain configurations.

Rugged, Reliable, and User-Friendly

The XJLink2 includes variable signal termination, making it suitable for boards with or without termination circuitry. It supports programmable voltage levels from 1.1 V to 3.3 V, giving direct compatibility with most Test Access Ports (TAPs). Two fixed ground pins ensure signal integrity, and all JTAG signals are +5 V tolerant for added robustness.

Flexible Licensing Model

Unlike many test controllers, the XJLink2 stores its own licence, so engineers are not tied to one PC. This means the same controller can be used across multiple systems, both on-site and off-site, providing maximum flexibility for teams.
