The Hioki AC Flexible Current Sensor CT7040 Series delivers a practical and reliable solution for measuring large AC currents in environments where traditional clamp sensors are difficult or impossible to use. Designed for industrial fieldwork and electrical inspections, this series combines Hioki’s advanced current sensing expertise with a compact, flexible design that adapts easily to crowded panels and complex conductor layouts.

Confined Spaces

Unlike rigid clamp sensors, the CT7040 series uses a flexible current loop that can be wrapped around large or awkwardly positioned conductors. The thin, lightweight cable allows users to perform measurements in confined spaces without disassembling wiring, reducing setup time and improving safety during inspections. Three loop sizes are available, making it easy to match the sensor to different conductor diameters and installation conditions.

Wideband Performance

With a frequency range of 10 Hz to 50 kHz, the AC Flexible Current Sensor CT7040 supports accurate waveform observation and frequency analysis across a wide operating band. This makes it suitable for monitoring inverter-driven equipment, industrial power distribution systems, and high-current machinery. While optimized for large current measurement, the sensor is not intended for low-level or leakage current applications.

Data Recording and Analysis

When paired with the Display Unit CM7290 or CM7291, the CT7040 series becomes a powerful measurement system capable of outputting data in multiple formats. Users can record raw waveforms, RMS values, peak current levels, or frequency signals to Memory HiCorders, data loggers, or oscilloscopes for further analysis. The CM7291 display unit also enables wireless data transfer via Bluetooth to the GENNECT Cross mobile app, allowing real-time monitoring on smartphones or tablets.

Reliable Field Use

Designed to operate in temperatures ranging from -25°C to 65°C, the CT7040 series performs reliably in both harsh winter conditions and hot summer environments.
