The LSX8081X Single PXIe Microwave Signal Generator delivers high-performance signal generation in a compact PXIe module. Operating up to 8 GHz, it combines ultra-low phase noise, rapid frequency switching, and advanced modulation features to meet the demanding requirements of modern RF and microwave testing applications.

Signal Integrity and Performance

The LSX8081X ensures exceptional signal purity and stability. It features phase noise of -133 dBc/Hz at 1 GHz with a 10 kHz offset, harmonics at -50 dBc, and non-harmonics at -90 dBc. Coherent frequency operation allows for precise phase alignment, supporting critical RF measurements, DAC/ADC clocking, and high-performance radar systems.

Ultra-Fast Frequency Switching

With a switching speed of under 10 µs, the LSX8081X reduces dead time in automated testing, improving throughput and efficiency. This capability is essential for simulating modern real-world conditions, such as frequency-hopping radars, electronic warfare scenarios, and secure communications, where rapid pulse-to-pulse changes are required without compromising accuracy.

Advanced Modulation Capabilities

The LSX8081X supports AM, FM, PM, Sweep, and Pulse modulation, enabling versatile signal simulations for analog and RF communication systems. FM supports deviations up to 10 MHz at rates up to 1 MHz. AM reaches linear depths of up to 90% at rates up to 100 kHz, and PM allows peak deviations of 360°. Pulse modulation features a high on/off ratio (~70 dB) and rise/fall times under 15 ns, delivering precision for radar and electronic warfare applications.

Flexible Control and Programming

The LSX8081X integrates seamlessly with SCPI and VISA protocols via LAN, USB, or SPI interfaces. It is compatible with Python, MATLAB, C#/C++, and LabVIEW, allowing full automation and control.
