Description

CT6877A AC/DC Current Sensor for EV and Inverter Testing

The CT6877A AC/DC Current Sensor is engineered to support accurate measurement of extremely high currents in modern power systems where speed, precision, and reliability are critical. With a rated current of 2000 A and a wide frequency bandwidth of DC to 1 MHz, this sensor is ideal for electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles, and advanced inverter-driven systems.

Large Aperture Design

One of the defining advantages of the CT6877A AC/DC Current Sensor is its large 80 mm aperture, which allows multiple conductors to pass through a single sensor. In EV and HEV systems, where current is often divided across two to four cables, this design enables collective current measurement without the need for multiple sensors or signal summation. This simplifies test setups while improving measurement consistency.

Zero Flux Technology

The CT6877A AC/DC Current Sensor uses Hioki’s zero flux method, combining flux gate detection for DC and low-frequency signals with CT detection for high-frequency components. This hybrid approach delivers excellent linearity and low offset, ensuring accurate current measurement across a wide dynamic range and temperature span.

Superior Noise Resistance

High-current environments are often affected by electrical noise. To address this, the CT6877A AC/DC Current Sensor features a reinforced shielding structure that minimizes interference from surrounding voltages. This design allows accurate measurement of current signals that would otherwise be buried in noise, even in high-power inverter systems.

Smart Analyzer Integration

When paired with Hioki Power Analyzers such as the PW8001, the CT6877A AC/DC Current Sensor automatically transfers sensor data including rated current, phase correction values, model information, and serial number. This automatic detection reduces setup errors, shortens measurement time, and improves confidence in power calculations.

Harsh Environments

With an operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C, the CT6877A AC/DC Current Sensor is suitable for laboratory testing, production lines, and field installations. Its durability and precision make it a dependable solution for R&D, quality evaluation, manufacturing, and maintenance applications.
