The LSX1492R Dual Microwave Signal Generator is a high-precision 14GHz dual-channel source that delivers exceptional spectral purity and ultra-fast switching in a compact 19″ 1U rack module. Part of Tabor’s Lucid-X series, this generator is ideal for advanced RF testing, including radar, electronic warfare, secure communications, and high-throughput automated testing environments.

Signal Integrity

Engineered for demanding applications, the LSX1492R provides ultra-low phase noise of -133 dBc/Hz at 1 GHz (10 kHz offset), harmonics at -50 dBc, and non-harmonics at -90 dBc. This ensures accurate, high-purity signals for applications like Local Oscillators, DAC/ADC clocking, and intermodulation distortion measurements. Dual-channel operation allows coherent frequency switching, making it ideal for multi-channel testing and synchronized measurements.

Fast Frequency Switching

With a frequency switching speed under 10 µs, the LSX1492R minimizes “dead time” during automated testing, enabling faster measurements and higher throughput. This capability supports simulations of frequency-hopping radar systems, Bluetooth, and military radios, where signals must change pulse-to-pulse. Coherent dual-channel switching ensures precise phase alignment for advanced RF applications.

Modulation Capabilities

The generator supports AM, FM, PM, Sweep, and Pulse modulation. Frequency Modulation (FM) allows deviations up to 10 MHz at rates up to 1 MHz. Amplitude Modulation (AM) supports linear depth up to 90% at rates up to 100 kHz, and Phase Modulation (PM) provides peak deviations up to 360 degrees. Pulse modulation features extremely fast rise/fall times of <15 ns and high on/off ratio (~70 dB), ensuring precision for radar, EW, and analog communication systems. Optional packages extend modulation capabilities and power ranges for specialized applications.

Control and Programming

Designed for seamless integration, the LSX1492R supports SCPI and VISA programming via LAN, USB, or SPI interfaces. It integrates easily with Python, MATLAB, C#/C++, or LabVIEW.
