LSX1494R Four Microwave
The LSX1494R Four Microwave Signal Generator is a high-performance 14GHz, four-channel source that sets a benchmark in RF and microwave signal generation. Part of Tabor’s Lucid-X series, this generator combines ultra-low phase noise, ultra-fast frequency switching, and versatile analog modulation in a compact, 19″ 1U rack module. It is designed to meet the most demanding applications in radar systems, electronic warfare, secure communications, and high-throughput automated testing.
Signal Integrity
The LSX1494R delivers exceptional spectral purity with phase noise of -133 dBc/Hz at 1 GHz (10 kHz offset), harmonics at -50 dBc, and non-harmonics at -90 dBc. Coherent switching across four channels ensures precise phase alignment for multi-channel testing, making it ideal for intermodulation distortion measurements, DAC/ADC clocking, and other high-performance RF applications.
Fast Frequency Switching
With <10 µs frequency switching, the LSX1494R minimizes dead time during automated testing and simulates real-world environments, including frequency-hopping radars, military radios, and electronic warfare systems. The fast, coherent switching allows engineers to perform precise, high-speed measurements without compromising signal quality.
Modulation Capabilities
This generator supports a wide array of modulation types: AM, FM, PM, Sweep, and Pulse. FM supports deviations up to 10 MHz at rates up to 1 MHz, AM provides linear depth up to 90% at rates up to 100 kHz, and PM allows peak deviations up to 360 degrees. Pulse modulation offers a fast rise/fall time <15 ns and high on/off ratio (~70 dB), ensuring accurate signal reproduction for radar, EW, and analog communication systems. Optional packages extend modulation and power capabilities for specialized applications.
Control and Programming
Designed for seamless integration, the LSX1494R supports SCPI and VISA programming through LAN, USB, or SPI. Compatible with Python, MATLAB, C#/C++, and LabVIEW, it can be operated locally or remotely via the virtual front panel. This flexibility allows for intuitive control in labs, embedded systems, or portable field environments.
