Description
Memory HiCorder MR8870 Portable Waveform Recorder
The Memory HiCorder MR8870 is designed for maintenance engineers and service technicians who need both oscilloscope-style waveform observation and long-term RMS variation recording in a single portable device. Compact, lightweight, and easy to carry, this handheld data acquisition recorder delivers reliable performance for elevator maintenance, motor diagnostics, inverter fault analysis, and machine inspections.
One of the key strengths of this is its dual measurement capability. Engineers can observe fast-changing instantaneous waveforms while simultaneously recording slow RMS variations over time. This combination allows accurate diagnosis of both transient events and long-term power quality issues, making the recorder highly effective for troubleshooting intermittent faults.
The instrument features two completely isolated analog channels and 2 MW of internal memory. This isolation ensures safe measurements across different circuits while preventing ground loop problems. When greater channel capacity is required, two MR8870 units can be synchronized using the bundled PC application to record four channels at the same time. This flexible configuration supports more complex diagnostics without increasing system complexity.
With a maximum sampling speed of 1 megasample per second, the Memory HiCorder MR8870 captures fast transient events such as motor inrush current and switching noise with clarity. Measured values can be saved directly to a CompactFlash card in real time, enabling uninterrupted long-duration recording and easy data transfer for later analysis on a PC.
The compact QVGA TFT wide LCD provides sharp waveform display in a small form factor, allowing engineers to review signals clearly even in confined spaces such as elevator machine rooms and control panels. Simple menu navigation and intuitive controls reduce setup time and improve efficiency during field work.
In practical applications, the Memory HiCorder MR8870 excels at recording motor startup currents, analyzing circuit breaker timing, and diagnosing sequence controller issues caused by momentary power interruptions and voltage dips. By correlating analog waveforms and logic signals, engineers can quickly identify the root causes of system malfunctions.
Combining portability, high-speed performance, and dual waveform and RMS recording capability, the Memory HiCorder MR8870 is an ideal solution for professional maintenance and fault analysis tasks.
