Description

Opto Fiber-Optic Automotive Link Overview

The Opto Fiber-Optic Automotive Link Overview provides a versatile and reliable solution for transmitting automotive communication signals in environments where EMC compliance, high signal integrity, and low interference are essential. Developed in partnership with MK-Messtechnik GmbH, these links are purpose-built for automotive, RF, and EMC test applications under international standards such as MIL-STD-461.

Designed for demanding automotive testing environments, the system supports a comprehensive range of communication protocols, including CAN Bus (FD, HS, LS, SW), LIN, FlexRay, A2B, PSI5, SPI, SENT, and K-Line, as well as automotive Ethernet with multiple chipset options from Marvell®, Broadcom®, and NXP®. This wide compatibility ensures adaptability across different vehicles and testing setups.

For flexible installation, one side of the analog or digital links can be integrated into a 19” rack or used in shielded aluminum standalone cases, making them ideal for use in anechoic chambers and test labs. With high-speed performance—such as up to 20 MS/s for SENT signals and 1 Gbit/s for automotive Ethernet—the system delivers accuracy and consistency even under complex testing conditions.

The Opto Fiber-Optic Automotive Link system is particularly valuable for signal integrity verification, EMC immunity testing, and automotive R&D, ensuring reliable data transmission while minimizing interference. Whether for standard CAN bus testing or next-generation automotive Ethernet validation, this solution provides the flexibility and performance that engineers and researchers demand.
