optoCharger Fiber Optic Link for EV Charging
The optoCharger Bidirectional Optical Transmission System is an advanced fiber-optic solution designed to provide galvanic isolation and secure communication between Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) and Electric Vehicles (EV). Built for high-noise EMC/EMI test environments, it ensures interference-free performance, operator safety, and compliance with CISPR 25 Class 5 standards.
With a 20 m multimode optical fiber link (62.5/125 µm), the optoCharger transmits Control Pilot (PLC), CAN, and auxiliary signals such as temperature monitoring and connector lock control. This makes it an ideal choice for EMC testing, research, and validation in both laboratory and on-site environments.
The system is powered by a long-lasting internal NiMH battery pack (8.4 V, 4 Ah), delivering approximately 10 hours of continuous runtime. Its rugged anodized aluminum housing with rubber protectors ensures durability, while the integrated grounding lug provides additional safety during operation.
Compatible with CCS, CHAdeMO, and GB/T protocols, the optoCharger guarantees versatility across multiple EV charging standards. Its compact and portable design (140 × 86 × 65 mm, ≈760 g) allows easy deployment in diverse testing scenarios. Connectivity is simplified with a BNC connector for Control Pilot and D SUB 15 female for CAN and auxiliary lines.
The optoCharger is delivered as a complete kit, including transmitter, receiver, optical fiber, and chargers, with optional accessories like extended optical cables, external battery packs, and feedthrough adapters.
