Description

IM3533 LCR Meter for Transformer and Coil Testing

The Hioki IM3533 LCR Meter is purpose-built for engineers and manufacturers who require precise, repeatable measurements of transformers, coils, and windings. As Hioki’s first LCR meter series to support turn ratio, mutual inductance, and inductance difference measurements, the IM3533 significantly simplifies complex evaluation tasks that traditionally required manual calculations or multiple instruments.

Accuracy and Speed

With an accuracy of ±0.05 percent and a broad measurement range from DC and 1 mHz to 200 kHz, the IM3533 LCR Meter delivers reliable results across a wide variety of components. Its non-stop measurement capability allows users to perform continuous testing under mixed conditions such as capacitance dissipation factor and ESR at dramatically higher speeds than previous models. This feature improves throughput in both development labs and production environments.

Advanced Measurement Functions

The IM3533 includes dedicated measurement modes tailored for transformer and winding applications. It can automatically calculate turn ratio by measuring primary and secondary inductance values, eliminating calculation errors and saving time. Mutual inductance is also computed directly by performing same-phase and reverse-phase series measurements. For temperature-sensitive applications, the meter supports temperature-compensated DCR measurements.

The built-in DC bias function enables testing under actual operating conditions and supports HDMI compliance requirements. A low impedance high precision mode ensures stable and accurate measurements when testing low inductance components or the ESR of aluminum electrolytic capacitors.

Frequency Analysis and Connectivity

The advanced IM3533-01 model supports automated frequency sweep testing across up to 801 frequencies. Measurement data can be saved directly to a USB flash drive or transferred to a computer for detailed analysis using the included LCR application software. The touch screen display and flexible cable length compensation settings further enhance usability and measurement confidence.
