The Regenerative Grid Simulator RGS Series is the next generation ‘2-in-1’ grid simulator and optional 4 quadrant load, designed for the testing and verification of all grid-tied applications. Emulate almost any grid condition and test to global regulatory compliance standards such as IEEE 1547, UL 1741, IEC 61000-3, IEC 61000-4, and more. The RLS Grid Simulator can verify the AC product performance while the optional AC DC Load is ideal for simulating any inductive, capacitive, or resistive load for a complete solution.

The Regenerative Grid Simulator – RGS Series is compact with high-power density, providing 12kVA/kW up to 21kVA/kW in a 4U chassis. Test systems can be paralleled up to 168kVA/kW in a single 19” cabinet. Dual cabinets can parallel up to 252kVA/kW.

The Regenerative Grid Simulator RGS Series simulates almost any power grid disturbance and distorted waveforms. The load option offers a complete solution if needed.

Test applications: Utility grid, microgrid, EV chargers, Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G), Vehicle-to-Home (V2H), Solar PV/grid-tied inverters, home energy storage systems, UPS, PDUs, and more.

Seamless Grid Simulation with Constant Power Voltage Range

Accurately simulate the power grid with the seamless transition of voltage ranges. A single constant power voltage range for both higher currents at lower voltage and higher voltages at lower currents eliminating the need to switch between voltage ranges. This prevents potential disruptions in output power.

Exceptionally High Current

The RGS Series provides a broader range of current eliminating the risk of over or under-sizing the power source. This reduces the need for additional capital investment. The diagram to the right illustrates the RGS’s capability to provide 20% more current from 120V to 200V when compared to a typical grid simulator that maxes out at 35A/phase.

Flexible Output Configuration for Accurate Grid Simulation

Simultaneous AC and DC operation of modes per phase(or channel), and the automatic switching of output modes provides test engineers with a unique capability and the highest degree of flexibility. AC, DC, (AC+DC optional) output configurations are available in single, split, three phase and multi-channels with optional isolated neutrals in AC and DC.

Full galvanic isolation from facility AC input to output and between output phases/channels also protects the user and the UUT.

The Regenerative Grid Simulator – RGS Series has a built-in waveform digitizer and scope with fast transient capabilities at 200us time resolution supporting LIST, PULSE and STEP modes.  Waveform generation includes ten Standard, Sine, Square, Triangle, Clipped and Harmonics AND inter-harmonics generation.
