ST9000 Discharge Detection Upgrade for Advanced Insulation Diagnosis

The ST9000 Discharge Detection Upgrade expands the diagnostic capability of the ST4030A Impulse Winding Tester by enabling detection of partial discharges that are typically hidden within noise. These microscopic discharges often indicate early stage insulation defects, commonly referred to as pseudo shorts, which can lead to reduced motor reliability or premature failure if left undetected.

Identifying Hidden Partial Discharges

Conventional impulse testing can struggle to isolate discharge signals from high frequency noise present in response waveforms. The ST9000 addresses this challenge by applying Hioki’s original filtering technology, which removes noise components while extracting only the partial discharge signal. This allows operators to make accurate pass or fail determinations without relying on external antennas or peripheral discharge detection devices.

Upgrade for Reliable Production Testing

Designed for manufacturing and quality control environments, the ST9000 enhances confidence in insulation testing results without complicating test setups. Because additional peripheral equipment is not required, test stations remain compact and easy to manage while still achieving high sensitivity discharge detection.
